The newsfeed is now YOUR newsfeed. Follow organizations and/or topics that suit you and design the newsfeed according to your taste. π
How does it work? π΅π»
By default, you follow all organizations relevant to your studies. However, to make the newsfeed more interesting for you, you will see recommended posts from organizations you're not following, or based on topic you've followed. This way, you can discover new organizations and decide whether to follow them or not.
What is an organization, and what is a topic? βοΈ
An organization is a specific account that posts content in the newsfeed.
For example: National Geographic.
A topic includes multiple organizations associated with that topic.
For example: The topic of natural sciences includes organizations like National Geographic, Spektrum der Wissenschaft, Kurzgesagt, etc.
What happens when I follow or unfollow an organization? πͺ
When you follow an organization, you'll see posts from that organization (and from all others you follow) in chronological order in the newsfeed. If you decide to unfollow this organization, it may still be recommended again if it falls under a topic you follow. Otherwise, you won't see any more posts from this organization.
What happens when I follow or unfollow a topic? π
When you follow a topic, you'll see posts from organizations assigned to this topic. However, these always change. So if you are interested in an organization, you can tap "Follow" to keep seeing all posts from this organization in your newsfeed. If you unfollow a topic, you will no longer see any recommended posts on this topic. If you follow several topics, you will be recommended posts on all these topics.
Where can I find the overview of all organizations and topics? π²
If you are in the newsfeed and click on the three-dot menu in the top right corner, you can always "customize the newsfeed". There, you'll see all organizations and topics and can follow/unfollow them.
