Why should I register at my university?

In order to be able to use the app, you will be asked at the very beginning for the access data to your university. The app needs the data to be able to display your own courses, calendar entries, emails, etc. Your personal access data will of course only be sent to the server of your university and no personal data will be saved.

Can I use the app without a login?

The core functionality of the app is to display personalized content. As with the systems at your university, you can only use a lot of functions if you enter your access data in a web browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Studo or MyUni. The same applies to e-mails: here too, mail clients such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Samsung Mail, Studo or MyUni require your access data to be able to display your inbox.

The access data stored in the app is encrypted and stored locally on your end device (smartphone or tablet) in an area protected by the operating system (Android or iOS).

I don't have any login data for my university yet because I have not started my study yet.

The Studo app can only be used if you are already fully enrolled at your university. Please be patient and wait until you receive the data for the online login from your university. From then on you can use the Studo app. πŸ™‚

What happens after I log in with my university login?

The login synchronizes the courses, courses, calendar entries and emails from your university to your mobile phone or tablet within a few seconds to minutes. Then you can start right away. The login data is stored locally encrypted on your device to enable functionalities such as email notifications. The login process is necessary once per device and you can change your linked universities at any time, i.e. remove existing ones and add more universities.
