In Studo it is possible to integrate external calendars from Google, iCloud or Outlook directly into the Studo calendar 📆 with just 5 clicks!

The appointments are automatically synchronised: If a new appointment is created or an appointment is edited in the imported calendar, these changes are automatically synchronised in the Studo Calendar 🙂

This guide works best on a PC: Share this page to yourself to open it on your PC.

Import Google Calendar into Studo

  1. Open Google Calendar in the web browser (not in the calendar app - if necessary, click on the link and select the web browser) (desktop page, not mobile page)

  2. Select the desired calendar under My calendars or Other calendars on the left and click on the three dots

  3. Select Settings and Sharing or Settings

  4. In the Calendar area, copy the secret address in iCal format (for public calendars, copy the public address in iCal format).

  5. Paste the copied URL into the Studo app under Settings -> Calendar -> Import Calendar✌📆

Import iCloud calendar into Studo

  1. Open iCloud Calendar in the web browser (not in the calendar app - if necessary, click on the link and select the web browser)

  2. Click on the waves on the left next to the desired calendar

  3. Mark the calendar public

  4. Copy the link. e.g. webcal://p1-calendars.icloud.com/published/2/gsa7d869

  5. Paste the copied URL into the Studo app under Settings -> Calendar -> Import Calendar✌📆

Import Outlook Calendar into Studo

  1. Open Outlook calendar options in the web browser (link points to the non-beta web Outlook calendar under Settings -> Options -> Calendar publications - if necessary, click on the link and select the web browser)

  2. Select the calendar you want to share

  3. Select availability, title and locations

  4. Copy ICS URL (not the HTML link)

  5. Paste the copied URL into the Studo app under Settings -> Calendar -> Import Calendar✌📆

How does it work?

Appointments can be synchronised between different calendars using the ical standard. The released ical URL can then be integrated into Studo. Studo automatically updates the saved appointments. For example, your duty rosters, your club appointments or the appointments shared with friends always stay up to date.

Ical URLs can be imported into Studo. Already downloaded .ics or ical files cannot be imported because they cannot be automatically synchronised. Therefore import the public URL of the calendar.

Any calendar that supports this ical standard (often referred to as webcal or ics) can now be integrated in Studo! 🙌

Help, I see the appointments for the imported calendar, but no titles 😱

With some calendar applications (such as Outlook) you can set whether you only want to publish the availability or the titles in the ical link. If you only see the titles of the imported appointments in Studo, please check the publish options and generate a new ical URL if necessary.

Can I also export the Studo calendar to the Android / iOS calendar?

The Studo calendar consists of four sources:

A) Your appointments entered personally in the Studo calendar.
B) Holidays (public dates).
C) Dates of your imported calendars.
D) Your university appointments.

An export with always up-to-date dates is only possible via an ical link. This means that all the dates necessary for exporting should be saved on Studo servers. However, since your university appointments are only cached locally on the end device of your device and are not stored on Studo servers, they cannot be exported.

Have fun with this new calendar feature!
Your Studo team
